New Year!

Happy New Year, Anderson Fans! He will be hosting a LIVE CNN Special at 11 p.m. EST. Kathy Griffin and Erica Hill will join him in Times Square.

So long 2007...

Wow...I can't believe the year is coming to an end! It seems like only yesterday I was brining in 2007! I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! May it be filled with laughter, joy, and many blessings!

I came across this on the Yahoo Anderson Cooper group of which I am a member. Its our man Coop with a bit of a tan! No joke. It is from his days hosting the " intelligent" Reality series" The Mole". To quote Rita:" Squee!" I heard that the Mole is on Fox Reality Channel. Sadly, I do not get to see it, as my cable company does not carry said channel. BOO!

*SQUEE* Sweeney Todd

OMG OMG OMG!!! So I drove 45 minutes to watch Sweeney Todd and WOW it was GREAT!! Johnny Depp is FANTASTICAL!! I just love his voice too!

Oh Johnny the things you do to me.... hahaha That's definately a weak spot for me, a gorgeous guy, who can sing, and is a AMAZING actor!!

Sorry folks but Depp is and will always be my number one!!

The music to the film is superb, I actually had to go out and buy the soundtrack! I was quite skeptical at first with the duet's between Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman, since Rickman has the deep, "silky" voice but OMG it was EXCELLENT!!

Sweeney Todd definately has an all star cast behind it (Depp, Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen) and it's directed by the marvelous Tim Burton!

Man folks, if this movie was playing in my hometown I would definately be watching it OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER!!!

My *squee* level is just through the roof to the infinite degree!!!!

The movie is quite bloody, but it's not bad (well I dont think, but that's coming from a person who wants to be a criminalist and work at crime scenes...yeah maybe it is idk) It also has some very funny moments in it as well!!

So all in all, Sweeney Todd gets 2 thumbs WAY WAY UP! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ :D

Anyone else notice that the Coop has been full of snark as of late?

I don't know about you all, but I am enjoying this more playful side of our favorite newsguy. The 360 " glee club" on Friday had me rolling on the floor! ( literally, since I watch 360 while sitting on my floor) I love the fact that Coop gives us hard news news, but at times the monotony of the news cycle can be depressing. Trust me, I know! I am delighted to see the 360 staff and Coop having some fun this Christmas season. My only wish is that AC himself would have " busted a move" on the dance floor. But somehow I doubt that the viewing public will see Coop dance on live TV anytime soon.

And what is it with the Aerobics video on " What Were they Thinking?" Again, that segment had me laughing out loud. I am also glad to see Erica Hill back in Atlanta, I miss her fun banter with the Coop when she is not there. She makes him laugh and smile.: most of the Coop's snarkiest moments occur during his banter with Erica.

Congo Report

If you all have not seen it, it was excellent. AC is really at his best when he is in the field. I felt so badly for those poor gorillas and I am glad to see that the rangers are doing as much as they can to protect this beautiful species.

Anderson always brings stories that are either totally underreported or completely ignored. This is one of the reasons why I am such a big fan of him and his work. Journalists in general have a bad rap, but it is those such as Anderson Cooper who give new light and hope to the profession.

60 Minutes tomorrow

Anderson's report for 60 Minutes on the Congo will air tomorrow following the football game. I don't know about you all, but I am very much looking forward to this segment. I love his reports from the far corners of the world. In this trained journalist's opinion, Anderson and Christiane Amanpour are two of the best field reporters in the business.

CNN Heros was WOW!

Anyone who missed the CNN Heros special last evening, there is another chance to view it from 8-11 EST. I saw it last night and all I can say is WOW. Every person chosen by the panel is a hero and I am so glad that these sort of extraordinary folks were honored in such a public, international way. I had tears in my eyes and also these stories made my brain go into overtime. One person CAN make a difference in the world if she/he is determined enough to do so.

My favorite, if I must pick one, is the 12 year old boy who started the bone marrow program. He seemed so poised and mature. I will not divulge anymore incase there are any Anderfans who have yet to view this special.

The music was excellent. I really like Sheryl Crow's new song.

Anderson is an excellent host for these sort of events, and I enjoyed seeing and hearing from Christiane Amanpour as well. They make a good team and are the only reasons I view CNN at all. Amanpour is a living legend in the world of jounalism.

Regis and Kelly

Anderson will be on Regis and Kelly NEXT Friday. Set your TIvo's.

I am NOT a Kelly Ripka fan, but Anderson's snarky humor makes up for her dumb blonde act. I don't much care for Rege , either. Anderson is a natural on TV. I know he is a serious reporter and all, but I personally love seeing the more relaxed, humorous side of the talented Mr Cooper.

As for tonight's special, I am looking forward to it. Anderson and Christiane are both excellent, but their personalities are very different.

"CNN Heros" Special

Anderson and Christiane Amanpour will co-host a special " CNN Heros" on Thursday evening( LIVE) at 10 p.m. EST. This is well-worth watching. I saw Anderson and Christiane interviewed on LKL regarding the special and they said that, as well as honoring these everyday people, there will be live entertainment.

Put your hard hats on everyone, the blog is going to get a new look! I've already made minute changes here and there! Hope everyone likes the new banner at the top of the blog!!!

Hope everyone is having a TERRIFIC day!! Mine has been great so far! I can't believe this is the last week of classes before finals!!! I'm so excited!!! I can't wait to actually start getting all my grad school stuff together and hopefully finalized soon!
